Theory of Problem and Theory of Change

Empirical evidence has demonstrated that the use of teaching and learning materials significantly improves the academic performance of students (Adalikwa and Iorkpilgh, 2013; Yara, 2010). Hands-on experience proves to be a catalyst for growing students’ interest in academic work (Holstermann, 2010). However, students in underserved schools like Avenorfeme, Sremanu, Afatsagbleve, Posmonu, Atanve, Akpokope, Yevi among others, do not have access to these teaching and learning materials hence they are unable to compete globally even with children in well-resourced schools in Ghana. Project Classroom seeks to bridge such educational inequity by sourcing for curriculum-based teaching and learning materials (CBTLMs) as well as provide basic educational infrastructure beginning with Lead For Ghana classrooms and or schools

Maiden Project – Project Classroom-Volta (PCV)

Currently, we seek to bridge such educational inequity by sourcing for curriculum-based teaching and learning materials (CBTLMs) beginning with materials for Lead For Ghana classrooms. We seek to do this by:

  1. Sourcing for CBTLMs from well-endowed schools who may have excess or recycled supplies of these TLM’s
  2. Apply for funds and or grants to construct and or purchase CBTLMs.
  3. Participate in Project Based Learning Training and Limited Resource Setting Teacher training.

Goals

  1. By September 2018, we look to source for curriculum-based teaching and learning materials for Science classroom in Avernofeme Zion J.H.S. in the Volta region supporting 70 students in quality academic work in Junior High School Classrooms.
